Parent2Parent Groups
Parent2Parent is a parent-led support group for parents worried about adolescent substance abuse.  Parent2Parent sessions are led by parents who have experienced first hand what it is like to live with substance-abusing adolescents.  They know the pain and confusion, as well as what helps and what works.  The Parent2Parent support group facilitators are also parents of children who have gone through the Caritas, Inc. residential program.  They are parents like you who have been there and come out the other side.  And they are parents who are there for other parents going through the same experiences.  The sessions offer encouragement and useful prevention strategies.  They are free and confidential.  Just drop in.

Parent2Parent support groups meet every other Tuesday.  Those being the first, third (and fifth) Tuesday night of each month from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  Just drop in.

Free consultation with our therapist is every Tuesday from Noon - 1:00 p.m.  Just drop in.

Caritas Celebration a Success
Caritas' Celebration of Charity, Clarity and Parity, held on April 23rd, was a tremendous success thanks to keynote speaker, Christopher Kennedy Lawford. Close to 250 people gathered at the Marriott Hotel and heard Mr. Lawford's inspirational and heartfelt message about his journey through addiction and recovery, while living inside the very public and political Kennedy family.  NBC-10 anchor Dan Jaehnig lent his talent and served as MC for the evening.  Mayor David Cicilline gave greetings from the City of Providence and Chris Kent from Congressman Kennedy's Rhode Island office extended best wishes to Caritas and the Congressman's regret at not being able to attend.  Assistant Attorney General Stacey Pires Veroni represented Attorney General Patrick Lynch's office.  Congratulations to the two award winners of the Christopher J. Corkery Memorial Scholarship, Olivia Rounds from Exeter/West Greenwich High School and Jessica Bucklin from North Kingstown High School. Many thanks to Neil and Maureen Corkery who generously funded this year's scholarships in their son's memory. Appreciation also goes to our supporters of the evening, especially Sovereign Bank, ACS Industries, Dominion Diagnostics, Randolph Savings Bank, AdCare Hospital and Healthcare Focus Solutions, members of our planning committee, board members and staff who all worked hard at making the dinner the success it was. Over $35,000 was raised to benefit Caritas.
